Client Focused with a Heart of True Design

here's a bit about me

My name is Cara Colvin, and for as long as I can remember I have loved all things "home".  While friends were playing Girl Talk (yes, I'm that old!), I was drafting floor plans and designing spaces with the newest 3D Home Architect I would get every year for my birthday!  I was beyond excited when I was able to take an interior design class in high school, which gave me an all new perspective and love for design.

As life progressed design got pushed back to a hobby.  I married my husband and we had four beautiful girls.  I was able to work a very flexible at-home job allowing me to be fully present for my family.  This job helped to pay the bills, and gave me the freedom to be the mother I wanted to be, but it was always just a job.  I knew there was something more for me.

Time didn't stop, my family kept growing, and pretty soon I started asking myself the age old question, "what do I want to be when I grow up?"  This is when the stars aligned and the universe presented me with the opportunity to start a career in real estate photography.  I jumped at the opportunity and learned the art quickly as I had already spent thousands of hours combing through design photos and real estate web sites.  Going into photography reignited my love of design, I enjoyed going into every home and capturing all of its potential, it was all the better when it was a beautifully staged home.  In turn, I also saw the missed opportunity in the unstaged home, and found myself decorated them in my mind with every photo I took.

I continued my photography work (and still do!), but the universe again provided me another amazing opportunity.  I was hired to complete the staging of a clubhouse located within a retirement community, which then lead to staging four additional model homes.

Today, I am so excited to be able to do what I love, and love what I do.  I know that with my passion and talent I will be able to help you create a beautiful, welcoming, and inviting space.  Whether you are looking for top dollar on your home listing, or need help figuring out "what do I do with this space?", let me help you reach your design goals.
